The ownership team at Morton Golf brings a diverse background and cumulatively, over 150 years of golf-course specific management to their different roles. Each specializes in their field of expertise, adding value and revenue-producing ideas and successful personnel management techniques to maximize results in today’s changing marketplace.

Ken Morton, Sr.

PGA Master Professional & Chief Executive Officer for Morton Golf LLC

Ken Morton Sr. has been in the golf business for nearly 60 years. During his early years at Haggin Oaks, he was first a teaching professional and then moved up to become Tom Lo Presti’s first assistant in 1964 and later became his partner and Co-Professional in 1971. They remained partners until Mr. Lo Presti retired in 1991 and then he took the reigns over individually until 2001 when he took in partners Terry Daubert, Ken Morton Jr., Tom Morton, Mike Woods and Kathy Morton to operate all of the City of Sacramento Golf Facilities.

Terry Daubert

Morton Golf President

Terry joined the Haggin Oaks Golf Shop in 1985 and became an apprentice golf professional. Initially, his career goals were to become a Head Golf Professional. Because of his educational background and his previous small business experiences, he became more valuable in an administrative position than as a golf professional. Over time, he was selected to become the General Manager of Haggin Oaks Golf Complex and today is the President of Morton Golf.

Ken has become an active voice in the golf industry through his work in education and the Association of Golf Merchandisers. He has given seminars to PGA sections and AGM groups in 10 different states and is a contributing writer to numerous publications. Under his guidance, the golf store has won the Golf Digest/Golf World Business Top 100 Golf Shop Award an unprecedented 25 consecutive times. His creative promotional and event ideas have garnered national attention. In 2000, he was named as one of the 40 most influential people in golf under the age of 40 by GolfWeek Magazine. He has also become a Board of Directors member of the AGM and in 2001, won their Excellence in Education Award. In January of 2006, he became the organization’s President.

Mike Woods

In 1990, Mike started working part-time at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex as a starter and when graduating from CSUS, he decided to try the golf business as his career. In 1992, he was promoted as an Assistant Golf Professional and started the PGA Apprentice Program. While learning to be an expert clubfitter, golf instructor and salesperson, he received his PGA Class A Membership in 1996. Next, Mike was named as only the third Head Golf Professional in the history of Haggin Oaks, and today is the Director of Golf.

Tom Morton

As the PGA Director of Player Performance for Morton Golf, Tom designs and coaches many programs. His philosophy is that the game has two types of motions, finesse and power swings, but the main goal is to always…HAVE FUN! He believes that each individual has their own golf blueprint based on current beliefs and body function and his job is to improve the blueprint for maximum success and enjoyment.
